PATHS OF GLORY (DVD)
In a chateau behind the front lines, the French general staff pass an order
to Colonel Daz to take the Anthill at any cost. A blatant suicide mission,
the attack fails so, to cover up, the generals order the arrest of three
innocent soldiers and charge them with cowardice and mutiny. Dax, a lawyer
in civilian life, defends the men but realises that, unless he can prove
the generals culpable, only a miracle can save the accused from the firing
squad.
Christiane Harlan, später die Ehefrau von Stanley Kubrick, singte in der Schlussszene das herzzerreissende Lied Ein treuer Husar. Den Film muss man gesehen haben. Nicht, dass das eine Referenz wäre, aber selbst gemäss IMDB zu den Top50 aller Zeiten gehörend :)
